Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released with the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the calendar, her songs was circulating around Dreamville. The day after Christmas, she revealed that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared in the album collaboration Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In the month of October, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. The second single she released was Grampa on the 9th November. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled No One and Pdigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On the 16th of November, and made the track available as a solo single for the album she released her debut. The track was supported by the release of a music video on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. In December 2018 she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour along with 6LACK.
